Extract from back cover of book:

In this, his first book, the well known turner and teacher John Berkeley shows you how to hand chase threads in wood, then uses the technique in twenty projects to produce clever puzzles and boxes that combine beauty with a brain-teasing twist.

In 1893 Professor Louis Hoffman published a book, entitled Puzzles old and new. The author has adapted some of these puzzles and improved them. In some cases they have been made even more difficult to solve.
