As reviewed in Australian Woodworker Issue 106
This is a 'best of' compilation of articles from Fine Woodworking magazine, on construction techniques for fine furniture-making by amateur and professional woodworkers from North America. The book's introduction calls it a conspiracy of expert experience, aimed at helping woodworkers 'get it, and get it right.'
Photographs of the various stages described in the text are provided with an emphasis on where to stand and how to place your hands when working on a job. If you are comfortable working with Imperial measurements, and are looking for detailed furniture making projects (including tables, doors, molding and inlay work), this book will suit you very well.
A possible drawback may be that the types of woods used in the demonstrations and projects are often difficult to obtain in Australia, so substitution may be necessary.
