Extract from back cover of book:

You will find this uniquely designed Barrel fun and easy to cut out and assemble. The design and assembly will make this Barrel very sturdy when finished and it will have the appearance of an actual Barrel.

The Stave edges can be left as they are when cut out or they can be slightly rounded before they are attached together to outline each Stave. Some of the Barrel pictures in this pattern book show the Staves designed both ways to help you decide how you want your Barrel to look.

Please read through this pattem book before starting your project to become familiar with the design and construction of the Barrel. It will help you understand why each step of the Barrel is necessary in the order they are presented.

This pattern book is assembled with a spiral so it can be laid flat on the work bench and turned page by page without folding back up and becoming difficult to use. It is presented in a normal 8 1/2" x 11" paper size so that it does not take up all of the work bench area and hard to handle.

The information is printed on one side of the paper only so you can use the back side to make any notes of your own to help you through the assembly of this project.

We sincerely hope you enjoy this pattern book and project and will look forward to hearing from you in the future. We would appreciate any comments you may have about this project and pattern book. It is our desire to supply our customers with wood working projects they want and make each pattern book easy and conve- nient to use.

Please Note. The Staves for this barrel are based on wood that is 1-1/2" thick, on a blade angle as shown in the text, and the Staves cut to the width shown. All of these are interconnected. If you change any one of them it will effect the others and the barrel may not turn out as desired. This is the biggest problem crafters have. If your lumber that is a little less then 1-1/2" thick, you may have to decrease the width by 1/32" or so. If the wood is a little more then 1-1/2" thick, increase the width by 1/32" or so.
