Extract from back cover of book:

If you develope them imaginatively, even those tiny "wasted spaces" in your yard can become islands of outdoor pleasure. A good example is our cleverly designed "Lil Buckboard" which turns that bland spot into an oasis of spectacular beauty. Moreover, the "Lil Buckboards" handsome appearance complements its surroundings. And the color and texture of the wood are harmonious points of interest.

You have selected one of the more popular pattern books in the Old West Collection of Wood Working Patterns. Several wood workers have built more than one of these Buckboards for others and for others who have contracted them to be built. It is a great wood working project that you will feel proud of when completed.

Be sure to read through and study each illustration before starting your project. This will give you a better idea of the design as it progresses through each step. This book deals only with the main frame for the Lil buckboard. The Wheels are made from the book Making Wheels Easy #1 and can be made first if you wish without affecting the quality of the finished product.

The companion book Making Wheels Easy #1 is the book that will guide you through making the wheels for the Lil Buckboard. Making Wheels Easy #1 containing over 80 pictures that detail every step required for the Connestoga style wheels used in all of the pattern books in the Old West Collection of Wood Working Patterns. In addition to showing you how to assemble the wheels there is an entire section devoted to making jigs for cutting out the different parts of the wheels. These jigs and their use are also detailed with illustrations and fully dimensioned patterns for their construction. Including the information in Making Wheels Easy #1 for every pattern book that has the wheels as part of their design is just not practical. The cost for each pattern book would be completely out of line and the information would be redundant.

The Buckboard as designed is a very attractive piece of furniture that will become a family keep sake. But it also allows you to make changes at several points so your personal feelings and design will make it a one of a kind design. So go ahead and make a change here and there to make your Buckboard unique.

It is our desire you enjoy this wood working project and are proud of it. If you have any comments or suggestions about this project or any other project please let us hear from you. We do read and pay attention to what our customers have to say.
