As reviewed in The Australian Woodworker Issue 130

Volume Two of The Traditional Bowyer's Bible continues the exploration of wooden bows and provides further instruction on making them.

Jay Massey introduces the subject matter with an argument for not only adopting traditional wooden bows but also for accepting the traditional standards of their use.

Tim Baker then discusses the making of bows from kiln dried boards. The next two chapters deal with, first, the bows used by the Indians of the Eastern Woodlands, and second, the bows used in Ancient Europe.

Dr Charles Grayson, who has been involved in archery for more than 70 years, then traces the history of the Composite Bow from the ancient past to the bows of this type that are being made today.

The remaining half of the book is devoted to Recurves, a long chapter on Strings, some Hints & Shortcuts, the use of Steel Points on Arrows and general discussions on Improving Accuracy and the making of Quivers.
