Modern hobbyists have discovered clockmaking to be a new outlet for their handiwork. While a clock has always been a beautiful addition to one's home, the gift of a handmade clock often means much more than just a piece of furniture. The clock builder presents a gift rich in pride, skill, thought, and activity.

A primary aim of this book is to help woodworkers - beginners or experts - design and build period-style clocks, ranging from very simple plaque or single-board clocks to classic early American and Victorian styles, and ending with plans for several full-size tall case clocks.

Little woodworking experience is required to make the reproductions offered in this book. Our instructions have been kept as simple as possible since the intention is to offer quality clock reproductions for as many readers as possible. Therefore, the joinery, assembly, and tool usage have been designed to be understood by everyone, beginner or expert.
